This is the first of two views into an atrium space in the lobby of MUSAC, the contemporary art museum in León, Spain. The exterior of the building is crazy-modern with color (inspired by the famous stained glass windows of the local Cathedral), but the interior is black and white, and concrete, and stark. The colors draw you compellingly into the edifice, and then once inside, the building steps back and gives the artworks/installations the space and the freedom to be and to express themselves, completely without prejudice or affectation.
